Located five miles from the Max Patch trailhead and just one hour from Asheville, the Downstay offers a private porch where you can sip coffee, chat with us, and takeaway a perfect meal before you start your adventure. We cook and bake it all for you.
All seasonal picnic meal items are made by Chefs Avi and Dov from our garden, local farms, and purveyors. We provide you with utensils, etc. — everything you need.

About the Downstay

The other cooking staff were family/friends of the brothers and were also wonderful at making us feel at home. Conversation was easy and the food!! It was FANTASTIC!! Seasonally fresh produce, eggs from their own chickens, homemade bread—all made with beautiful seasoning and a wood fired oven. The property had spectacular views with a wraparound porch. we look forward to going back and highly recommend this experience.”
